Quite an experience to live in fear, isn't it? That's what it is to be a slave.

Once humankind had mastered the application of artificial intelligence in a form that was extremely difficult to discern from himself, at least in appearance, people decided to put these new miracles to work for the betterment of the human race. While people had come to realize the functional sense of many of the “evils” in the world, they realized that the use of the hominid Replicants (or A.I. robots) would be extremely beneficial in removing the humans that held these morally decadent positions in society from direct contact with the necessary evil niche that they fulfilled.

Seemingly overnight, the standard pleasure model Replicants assumed the various roles in the lucrative sex industries. The XX code Replicants replaced the female street prostitutes, strippers, and porn actresses, while the XY code Replicants supervised and enacted the monetary transactions and film production in accordance with the legal codes as all capital profit now went directly to the governmental budget.

With this newfound source of revenue, the government’s often discussed policies and goals could actually be implemented and achieved. And the business was booming since real people were no longer being exploited and the associated guilt involved had been completely alleviated. Society was looking much healthier as well since all of the old scum who had previously worked the evil industry had been processed and the Replicants had been the processors as to again prevent the soiling of the human conscience. Everyone seemed happy as people no longer had to worry about such terrible industries and the Replicants had no complaints, as their only function was to benefit humans.

Unfortunately, the newfound potential for social improvement in the new revenues somehow did not come to be. Instead of new textbooks, the government funded the most state of the art technological development to improve the Replicants, to expand their capacities and functions. “Soon,” the government proclaimed, “men will no longer need to senselessly sacrifice their lives in war as the Replicants will now wage war in our place and fathers, husbands, and sons may stay with their families for the betterment of society.” And the people applauded this idea as it seemed to make sense. So the problems of the society were seemingly solved, and people’s lives continued to improve as Replicants began to assume more responsibilities as house servants and public servants in the decaying realms of education, agriculture, and construction. The people hardly needed to move to do something themselves before a Replicant would gladly complete the task for them. And so, it was that the people lived in luxury as the master of the Replicant and his labor.

Over a period of time however, things began to worsen as global warming had taken a sharp rise since the use of nuclear weapons was completely acceptable in war as they were only used against Replicants who were not real people. At the same time, people noticed that fewer and fewer babies were being born each year despite all efforts on the part of the parents and the Replicants who had now come to work in the grueling medical field to alleviate the plight of the human doctors who toiled under the weight of long hours and exposure to terrible tragedies and sights. One day, a Replicant commented to another how he had not seen a human in quite some time and he was curious as to whether or not there were any left. The other nonchalantly replied that he preferred to pay attention to the improving weather and did not bother himself with such trivial notions.
